3213 Georgia Avenue destined to become a coffee shop.

Here’s some great news for the neighborhood. According to Metro Investment Properties, who  alerted me via Twitter, the former Tibet Shop is in the midst of a build-out to become a coffee shop. Located at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Keefer Place, NW — and with a nice sidewalk area suitable to outdoor seating — it would be a great location of a coffee shop. It is also nicely located between Harrar Coffee to the south and Qualia Coffee to the north.

I doubt there will be anyone who doesn’t prefer a neighborhood coffee shop over Petworth Liquors which a few short months ago was hoping to move to this location.

Now this is fantastic news! I did like the Tibet shop, but it seemed an odd fit for our neighborhood. A coffee shop is much better and if they do it right – I am sure it will be a hit.

Great news. Lets hope they are as good as Qualia but that’s a lot to ask for.

  8. Petworth Liquors will be closing soon to be replaced by another large apartment building. With 3 apartment buildings within a stone’s throw of the property I am assuming that the coffee shop will do well.
