New Building Rising at 3003 Georgia Avenue
Here’s a development that flew under my radar until now — a new mixed use building across from the Bruce-Monroe Park and just north of Columbia Road. If anyone remembers the property, they will recall that it used to have an old row house facade that was in horrible condition. In fact, it was hidden behind plywood that often had movie posters on it as the property crumbled into the ground.
Well, back in October, 2012, a building permit was issued for a new building and in reading the scope of work, it seems that it now has a new owner.
If you are wondering what the building will be, the following was gleaned from the permit. The project consists of a three 3-1/2 story building with a basement that has mixed commercial and residential use. Behind the building there will be space for two parking spaces.
