Fenty Announces Landex Corp as Park Morton Developer

Mayor Fenty was at Park Morton this morning to announce the selection of the developer for Park Morton … which was Landex Corp.

According to today’s online Washington Business Journal, Landex also secured a contract to buy the property from Central Union Mission at Georgia Avenue and Newton which will be the first phase of Park Morton, helping to secure the deal.

Below is an excerpt from the Washington Business Journal.

Landex Corp. plans a $130 million, 500-unit redevelopment of the Park Morton public housing project in the Park View neighborhood of Northwest Washington, D.C., after being selected as D.C.’s development partner by Mayor Adrian Fenty.

Fenty made the announcement Wednesday at Park Morton, one block east of Georgia Avenue NW. The 174-unit community is one of four public housing projects the city plans to turn into mixed-income communities under its New Communities initiative.
