New Street Art from Sherman Avenue

October 9, 2013

Over the weekend I found some new street art on the building located at the southeast corner of Sherman Avenue and Girard Street.  Off hand, it looks like these have been inspired by a few of the equestrian statues around town.

Some Street Art From Pleasant Plains

August 1, 2013

Recently, I noted the following street art at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Girard Street. Overall, I haven’t been seeing as much of this as I used too. Do you think its a thing of the past?

Konfidential Street Art

May 31, 2013

Here’s some street art I found on Georgia Avenue this week. One was at Georgia’s intersection with Columbia Road, and the other was just north of Kenyon Street. I wonder if there are other examples in this series — clearly by the same artist.

Another Street Art Series

May 2, 2013

Here’s an example of a street art series I’ve been seeing around the city. I like the premise. In all of them, a figure is holding up a blank sign that has been written on. I’ve seen them come in a variety of sizes and colors. The one below was found on P Street, NW, but I’ve also seen them on K Street as well.

I’ve been finding a lot of these Stop Deportations posters around the community lately. I like both the graphic and the message.

The Continued Quest for Street Art

February 27, 2013

Here’s one of several similar posters I’ve seen on public utility boxes in Columbia Heights recently. Even though I know they are technically wrong, I still have a great appreciation for all the creativity I see in the community.

Inspiring Street Art

February 1, 2013

I noticed the message below painted on one of the retaining walls at Harriet Tubman Elementary School. I really liked the message and happen to agree with it … life is awesome! It made me smile and I hope it will do the same for you.

Here’s some recent street art I found in Columbia Heights while walking around the area. I still haven’t completely decided if I like this one or not.
