DC Water in Midst of Annual Hydrant Flushing

September 20, 2013

Yesterday, DC Water gave notice to the 600 block of Rock Creek Church Road that their annual flushing program will be conducted on that block between September 24th and 30th. I noticed earlier this week that  DC Water was flushing the hydrants on the 700 block of Quebec Street. So, it’s a safe bet that if you’re in the Park View area and haven’t come home to a notice from DC Water about this yet, you probably will soon. Below is an example of the informational door hanger if you want to know more about what to expect in relation to the hydrant flushing program.

Hydrant at Warder and Newton Streets Finally Getting Repaired

November 9, 2010

Back on August 31st I posted about some area fire hydrants that were in need of repair. One of them was at the Park View School on the northwest corner of Warder and Newton Streets.

Yesterday, the hydrant at the school finally got some much-needed attention. In addition to being out of service, I was particularly concerned by how much water it was leaking each hour.

I’m not sure how long it normally takes to repair a hydrant once it makes the “out of order” list … but I’m happy that this one will finally be up and running.

Below are two more photos for the work crew and repairs.
