January 14, 2016Film Short “The Wait” Screening Tonight as Part of DC Shorts Film Festival.
September 11, 2015This is cool. You may remember that local artist Nekisha Durrett painted a new mural at Mothership this past year, which was completed shortly before the restaurant closed. In conjunction with the mural was a documentary by Lorie Shaull which documented the creation of the mural, explores gentrification, and features the surrounding Park View neighborhood to boot. This past spring, Lorie Shaull entered her film The Wait: A Mural by Nekisha Durrett into the DC Shorts Film Festival 2015.
The film was selected and will screen today, September 11th, at 9:30 p.m. at Landmark E Street Cinemas as one of the films in Showcase6. It will screen again on September 13 at 4:30 p.m. and September 16th at 500 p.m. You can learn more about the DC Shorts Film Festival here.
