Shooting on Lamont Last Night
About 8:15 pm last night, MPD sent out notice that the Third District was investigating a shooting in the 400 block of Lamont Street NW, where an adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower extremities. A follow up alert when out that a second victim had been located at an area hospital. The second victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg. No more information is known at this time.

I emailed CM Nadeau about the recent uptick in street activity on the 600 block of Newton Pl. The # of people loitering lately is completely out of hand, and I have not seen a strong police presence to combat the activity. CM Nadeau has yet to reply to my email.
As this blog highlights, this block has consistently had issues for a very long time, and even when Jim Graham was the CM, only short-term solutions were ever applied. Something drastic needs to be done and Nadeau and the police need to come up with a permanent solution.
