New Speed Camera on Irving Street
(Image from Park View Beautification Crew Facebook page.)
Yesterday it was noted on the Park View Beautification Crew Facebook page that a new speed camera has been located on Irving Street halfway between Georgia Avenue and Warder Street. While the new location hasn’t been added yet, in general you can check out MPD’s Speed Camera Location page to see where camera’s are deployed throughout the city. Of equal interest, you can also contact MPD to recommend a photo radar location.

I’ve twice requested this but it was so long ago I doubt this was in response. Cars fly down Irving, particularly at that spot since it’s at the bottom of a hill. Having commuters treat this 100% residential street like a speedway is dangerous and insultingly rude.

Hi Kent, thanks for sharing. I just went to send an email to Lisa Sutter at MPD to suggest a speed camera on Park Pl. at Park Rd. NW since most cars seem to speed once they pass the speed camera up at Park Pl. and Quebec Pl. The email bounced back saying that it is not a valid email address. Just wanted to let you know.
