Mark your calendars, the first annual Georgia Avenue Winter Fest (visit Web site) is a week away. According to the organizers, the festival “will showcase … the wonderful work of artists, businesses and organizations in Park View and Pleasant Plains and along Georgia Avenue.” They are planning to have vendors selling food and arts and crafts, art displays, performances and demos, a kids corner with craft making and other activities, info tabling and Christmas tree sales.

The event will be held at the former Murray’s grocery store at Georgia and Morton.
