Petworth Cafe Nearer to Opening
(Petworth Cafe, 3657 Georgia Avenue.)
I’ve been watching the build out of the Petworth Cafe — located on the east side of Georgia Avenue between Rock Creek Church Road and Quebec Place — and noticed last week that the inside of the business appears to be nearly built out. While I wasn’t able to get the best photo, it does show that the renovations appear to be in the final stages.
I’ll be very interested to see their menu and will share that when I can.

Hope this is a legit place. This block of blighted buildings is in dire need of quality, reputable stores & restaurants. If this place doesn’t serve good food (above “carryout” level) I won’t patronize it. We desperately need a high quality deli… They need to lose the bars on the window and door tho. Major turnoff.

Hope that they look to a similarly named place further south for inspiration, U St. Cafe. We really could use a nice place for a cup of coffee and a good breakfast sandwich or bagel.
