Neighborhood Watch Crime Prevention Training This Saturday @ Ward 1 Senior Wellness Center
Crime, and its prevention, is something that is of great concern to everyone in the community. I’m happy to report that I’ve help coordinate a Neighborhood Watch Crime Prevention Training that will be conducted this Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 3531 Georgia Avenue NW (Bernice Fonteneau Senior Wellness Center) beginning at 10:00 am. This is a free training open to anyone interested in reducing crime. Coffee and donuts will be served.
If you want to learn ways to prevent crime and reduce your likelihood of becoming a crime victim, please attend the training. You will see pictures of actual crime scenes and learn how changing simple behaviors can reduce your possibility of becoming a victim of the crimes. More than 80% of crime in DC is preventable (Crime of Opportunity). By reducing these crimes, the police can concentrate on preventing and solving more violent crimes.
The training will be conducted by Samantha Nolan, Citywide Neighborhood Watch Trainer.

This Saturday at 10:00 there is a crime prevention meeting at Park View Elementary, this one, and another at the substation. Maybe they should all be combined into one meeting? I will probably attend the one at the substation.
