2014 Columbia Heights Day Has Good Turn Out
(The stage area by Wonderland)
Despite a cool, overcast fall day, the turn out for this year’s Columbia Heights Day was relatively strong. The live music at the Irving Street end of 11th Street was a popular hang out, as was the food vendors. As expected in an election year, political candidates were everywhere. The Mayoral candidates were all represented and at the festival during one time or another, with Carol Schwartz, David Catania, and Muriel Bowser all present … but the best place to see candidates was in the dunk tank. As a participant in the tank, I’ll tell you, it was cold, cold, cold.
All the candidates for the Ward 1 State Board of Education (who we are featuring on this blog) were also present to speak with community members.
Below are some photos from the day.
