The Department of General Services (DGS) has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, February 13, 2013, at the Park View Recreation Center to discuss the disposition of the vacant alley lot located behind the properties on the 3200 block of Georgia Avenue. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The parcel in question (Square 2892, Lot 0105) is owned by the District of Columbia but has not been used for some time. It is also surrounded by the property owned by the developer planning to replace Petworth Liquor with a new mixed-use commercial/residential project (You can read more about that projected here).
To add clarity on where the property is located, see the related map above. It shows the property in question highlighted in black. The Planned Unit Development proposed for 3212 Georgia is indicated by the hatched area surrounding the property.
Those interested in learning more about this process, or wanting to provide feedback and comments to DGS, are encouraged to attend. ANC 1A will weigh in on this disposition later in 2014. Below is a photo of the surplus property. (Note: This meeting was originally scheduled for November 25, 2013)

This small alley building and its lot are behind 3214-3218 Georgia. It is currently owned by the District of Columbia and unused.
