New Details for 703-707 Newton Place Development
(Rendering of 703-707 Newton Place elevation)
Back in October I posted that the rowhouses at 703-707 Newton Place, NW, were headed for development and speculated on what that project might look like. Thanks to recent details from Lock7 Development, I can now share the design of that development along with the news that the new building will contain nine new living units. According to the floorplans, two of them will be single bedroom units and seven will be two bedroom units. The upper three spaces will also have roof decks.
Below are two more renderings of the project to give a better idea of what it will look like.

This is terrible. Why not renovate the existing row houses instead of cramming another multi unit building in a small space. Terrible!

I think this is great! Adding more density so we can attract more business and amenities to the neighborhood. Great news in my opinion.

IMO there are enough high-density projects in the works (or stalled) on GA to add hundreds and hundreds of units. I fear that the character of PV is being compromised by unrestricted building like this

Why not incorporate 701 Newton, the corner lot? Sure, by right they can build more density at 703-707. I just wish the higher density fronted the Avenue. Then, I’d support additional height/density.

Clarification to the above: the higher density should front Georgia Avenue, which is the real Avenue. Not the project across the street with a less-than-clever name.

[…] I’ve been following Lock7’s redevelopment of the property at 703-707 Newton Place, NW since I first posted about it in November 2013. Originally three modest rowhouses, Lock7 razed the structures to construct the 9 unit Condo that now stands on the site. The new building — named The Whitney Row — is finally completed with the units on the market with prices ranging from $434,900 to $774,900. Over the weekend the building was open to the public to explore, which I did. No two floorplans are identical. […]
