3622 Georgia Avenue Also Under Renovation

Not all the development on Georgia Avenue is from large developers. 3622 Georgia is an example of a smaller scale project. According to DCRA, a building permit application was submitted on March 5, 2012 to renovate the long vacant shell of a building. It is still wending its way through the review process, but I was able to glean some details from the Zoning Review.

According the zoning review, the intent is still to have ground floor retail. Zoning is still waiting to see elevation drawings for the rear one-story addition to the two-story structure. As you can see below, there is nothing left to this building except the facade. The building was gutted years ago and has been in its current state for a while. It’s nice to see it ramping up to support another business — especially on this block of Georgia, which already has a number of thriving businesses.
