Update on Park View Rec Center Renovations
I had an opportunity to review the renovations currently in progress at the Park View Recreation Center. The center closed for work on November 19th and is expected to reopen in mid January. As I shared earlier, the majority of the list of work focuses on the interior of the building, although some exterior improvements are included.
Currently, interior demolition work is underway. The loft and some interior walls have been removed. The photos below show the expanded interior space between the front of the building and the restrooms to the rear.
I’ll provide future updates as the work continues.

What about the installation of the metal things that they promised for the wall at Princeton and Warder? Yesterday that corner had 18 people hanging out there…

I keep asking and DPR keeps telling me they are part of the project. I’ll continue to remind them.

Agree with Cliff. The warm weather had a lot of folks hanging on the corner last night. Including a rather loud profanity laced fight between two people around 5:00pm. We definitely have to deal with the loitering issues now before the summer comes around. Thanks for the updates Kent.

MB, unfortunately can’t truly deal with loitering issues until there is a law against it 😦

K, I agree. But we are hoping that the metal ridges along the wall will at least deter some of the folks from sitting out there all night, especially in the summer. We have to look at every option available to us even if we are limited.
