For those who are interested in canning but have never done it before, Annie’s Ace Hardware is hosting a free canning workshop tomorrow eventing (details above). According to Annie’s, he lesson will include”

• Correct sterilizing of jars;
• Discussion about setting options- pectin, sugar, lemon juice;
• Demo of the process to jar up;
• Tastings;
• Demo of water bath preservation; and,
• Talk about potential canning ingredients and troubleshooting.

 Lylie will be making:

• Strawberry Balsamic Jam;
• Mixed Berry Conserve;
• Pineapple Mole Chutney;
• Red Chili Preserve; and,
• Herbed Salt and Pepper
