Do You Like Dogs and Beer? Then Try the Blue Banana’s Thursday Yappy Hour
If you missed last Friday’s Washington Post, you probably also missed its mention of the Blue Banana’s Thursday Yappy Hours. Their Dog-Friendly Happy Hour started as a once a month charity night. It turned out to be so popular that the Blue Banana has made it a weekly Thursday event. One Thursday a month will continue to benefit the Washington Animal Rescue League.

Oscar, his almost 3-year-old Portuguese water dog, may have had something to do with the decision. While pups have always been welcome, the bar decided to make it official in May by hosting a Yappy Hour every Thursday night. Dogs socialize while snacking on Milk-Bones and lapping from bowls of water; meanwhile, humans can get any drink in the house — beer, wine or mixed drinks — for $4.
Once per month, the bar donates 20 percent of the proceeds to the Washington Animal Rescue League. Upcoming charity nights include June 14, July 12 and Aug. 16.
