Great New Murals at Annie’s Hardware
I just visited the Annie’s Hardware site — located at 1240 Upshur and shooting for a February 7 opening — and discovered that they’ve painted murals in the windows at the front of the store. I have to say that I think they look great. I especially love the nod to the surrounding communities of Park View, Brightwood, and Crestwood.
The murals were created by Petworth resident Torie Partridge and you can contact her via email or visit her Website to learn more about her work.

Torie, who also works at Domku, is the artist. They are quite nice indeed.

I think Torie did a great job. I’m glad she had the opportunity to create such a visible series of murals in the community.

Thanks so much for featuring these here! Working with Anne has been so rewarding, and her dedication to supporting local Petworth business was impressive. I’m thrilled that my work gets to grace her storefront!

Yes! I can’t wait for Annie’s to open. I was thinking about that both times I went to the Brentwood Home Depot on Saturday. At least one of those trips should have been a bike trip in the neighborhood. And these murals look fantastic. Great stuff, Torie.

The first map (Petworth) covers areas far to the west of Petworth, though. Lots of 16th Street Heights in there.

Agreed.

I agree too. Unfortunately, Petworth is one shape, and Annie’s windows are another 🙂

Torie: Well then, a 16th Street Heights label could have been painted on there as well, couldn’t it?
(I love the painting, by the way, just a geography stickler!)

[…] If you love these Petworth map prints by Torie, signed and numbered prints are available for sale in Qualia Coffee at 3917 Georgia Avenue in Petworth, as well as Core Haus and maybe a few other places — and probably her website too. I also mentioned that she did the murals for the front windows of Annie’s Ace Hardware. Here are some photos of those windows, courtesy of our neighbor Kent at Park View, DC. […]
