For those that reside in ANC 1A09 and have not voted early, this may help you as you contemplate who to select in this year’s three-way race.

Bobby Holmes is running in addition to Sam Moore and incumbent LaKeisha Thomas. In addition to his candidacy statement below, you can find out more about Holmes at his election Web site.

Statement from Holmes:

After an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corp. in 1978, I moved to 646 Lamont Street with my family.

I have been involved with our community for more than 30 years now. I have three daughters and two grand-daughters who all attended and graduated from Park View Elementary school. My wife also attended and graduated from Park View. We have strong roots in this community.

I am also currently very active with the Third District. My family and I work with them on many of their events.

I assist my neighbors with a variety of issues that come up in our community. Work with many of our seniors who are unable to obtain assistance with variety of issues for themselves.

I realize there is a disconnect within our small ANC and plan to be accessible to not only the neighbors that I know, but the neighbors that I have yet to meet.

There are a variety of issues and concerns in our community that we face daily. With your help and input I hope to make a difference that you can see.
