Sadly, the fence at the old Soldier’s Home has been hit by a car again. This time the damage is just north of the Upshur Street gate on Rock Creek Church Road.

Back on July 4, 2008, a section of fence was damaged along the 400 block of Rock Creek Church Road. It wasn’t until a year later that work began to repair that section of fence. I have to believe that this section will be repaired a little more quickly being so close to the front gate.

As you can see from the following photos after the jump, not only was one of the bricks pier completely reduced to rubble, a stretch of the stone between two piers was also pushed out of alignment.
