Columbia Heights Heritage Trail Unveiling Coming Soon!

Columbia Heights Heritage Trail

One of the really great take aways from Wednesday’s ANC 1A meeting was the postcard above, which is announcing the Columbia Heights Hertage Trail Unveiling & Neighborhood Celebration on Saturday, October 24th. The unveiling will be at 1 pm and the Trail Walk will be from 2-4 pm.

There is a complete outline of the day’s events at the Cultural Tourism DC Website which I encourage folks to check out. Of particular note are the opportunity for visitors to explore the Josephine Butler Parks Center‘s 1927 mansion, to visit historic All Souls Church, and to take a guided tour of the Mexican Cultural Institute‘s 1910 mansion and stunning murals.

You can see two vintage photographs of the murals in the former Mexican Embassy below to get an idea of what to expect.
