Howard Town Center Meeting on Monday

Darren Jones, President of the Pleasant Plains Civic Association, posted the following email on the Georgia Avenue listerv today. This development should be of interest to all as it will greatly impact the development of all of lower Georgia Avenue.

The Pleasant Plains Civic Association and Howard University are holding a community meeting regarding the plans for the Howard Town Center Project at the Emergence Community Arts Collective, 733 Euclid Street, N.W (across from Banneker High School). The meeting is Monday, August 31, 2009 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

The developer of the Howard Town Center, Tim Kissler of Castlerock Development, will be making the presentation.

The Howard Town Center will change the face of Lower Georgia Avenue with a specialty supermarket, 300+ residential units and 90,000 square feet of retail.

Please join us to see how Georgia Avenue is changing. Business owners are invited. Bring a neighbor with you.

Refreshments will be served.

PS: The ECAC is not wheelchair accessible as yet, but there are fewer stairs if you enter from the rear parking lot. Access the lot on Georgia between Euclid and Fairmont, on Euclid close to Sherman or Fairmont close to Sherman.
