The Great Crape Myrtle Episode is Finally Over

Replaced Crape MyrtleWhile chopped crape myrtles have been popping up across town, it appears that the ruckus over the one that first brought this issue to local notice has finally started to blow over.

After the owner of the tree posted and angry, open letter to the city on the Prince of Petworth, Alan Heymann also had his response posted on the same site.

The long and the short of it is that the City replaced the crape myrtle even though the owner told them it wasn’t necessary. When I inspected the new planting, it was much larger than the one that was destroyed. No one knows what color its going to be when it blooms, but I hardly thing that’s important at this time.
