Development Finally Coming to Georgia Avenue & Kenyon Street Property
The lot on the northeast corner of Georgia Avenue and Kenyon Street is finally headed for development. At last night’s ANC 1A meeting, the architect of the new project shared some information and agreed to come back in the future to answer additional questions.
The project will be entirely by-right, meaning that the building will conform with all current zoning and building regulations. As a result, there will be no community amenity package. The end product will be a 5-story building devoted entirely to residential use. It will contain 31 units with 5 of those being affordable. The building will also include 16 parking spaces.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the next 3 to 4 months. I’ll share more details as they become known.

Great news. Do you know who the developer is?

The architect mentioned the name, but I didn’t catch it. I’m following up, though. I’d love to see the renderings.

no ground floor retail? on a major corridor? that’s short-sighted.

GA is saturated with ground floor retail which half is vacant. I welcome a nice occupied market rate residential building that takes care of the street facing area
