Due to the Middle Georgia Avenue Great Streets work at the intersection of Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues, the Capital Bikeshare normally located on the southeast corner of the intersection has been relocated to the northwest corner. As you can see from the photograph above, if you are a regular user of Capital Bikeshare, you now have to cross Georgia Avenue to the area in front of the old Engine Co. 24 facade to get a bike.
I know that this is going to be an inconvenience to many residents who rely on Bikeshare to get to work, but trust that it will only be temporary.
UPDATE: I’ve just learned from DDOT that after construction, the Bikeshare station will remain at its current location at the Northwest corner of Georgia Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue. The streetscape project will be installing two new tree boxes near the original location, which would create congestion if the station were put back in the original location.
Also, the 4 additional bike racks in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue were installed today. This brings a total of 8 bike racks in the area near DC Reynolds, Blue Banana, and the Looking Glass Lounge.

"The territory comprising Park View extends from Gresham Street north to Rock Creek Church Road, and from Georgia Avenue to the Soldiers' Home grounds, including the triangle bounded by Park Road, Georgia Avenue, and New Hampshire Avenue" (from Directory and History of Park View, 1921.)
