Market 77 @ 3653 Georgia Now Open

The new Market 77 at 3653 Georgia Avenue opened over the 4th of July weekend. While another convenience store isn’t anything to get too excited about, it is noteworthy that Market 77 is putting a significant imprint on Georgia Avenue.

Market 77 first opened a location in July 2010 at the former National Guard location at Irving and Georgia Avenue. They also have a location at 9th Street and Varnum, NW, just east of Georgia Avenue, in Petworth.

While it’s good to see new businesses opening along Georgia Ave it would be great to have a grocery store at the lower end of Park View that sells more than the typical low quality unhealthy stock. Does anyone feel like our neighborhood could sustain a Timor Bodega type of shop?
